Arts Outburst
Arts Outburst is a creative community organisation offering inclusive arts programmes for both children and adults across Thurrock. Our activities provide welcoming, supportive spaces where people can build confidence, develop skills and connect with others through creativity. Programmes include Make Some Noise drama sessions for young people, Thurrock Voices community choir for adults, and our popular Family Fiestas, which bring families together through themed creative activities. Alongside these, we deliver a range of workshops, performance opportunities and community events designed to inspire, engage and empower local residents of all ages.
Founded in 2004, Arts Outburst has been co-creating art and cultural projects with the people of Thurrock (and beyond) for almost 20 years! In 2023, we joined the Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. We have secured core funding for three years. This means we can plan, develop and deliver even more great arts projects for everyone in Thurrock and South Essex to enjoy, including:
- Make Some Noise - Free weekly drama, dance and music sessions, open to all young people (Aged 6-14+).
- Express - Our creative mental health project offering a safe space to talk, create and connect.
- Grays Youth Club - Open every Friday, giving young people a friendly place to hang out and take part in positive activities.
- Feel Good and Move Zumba, Zumba Gold and Pilates classes - Free sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
- Thurrock Voices - Our community choir is the perfect place to lift your voice and meet new people.
- Urban Motion - Our free urban arts programme for children aged 10+
- Bloom & Bond - Our free creative and bonding sessions for pregnant women and parents of babies aged 2 and under
- ThurrockCAN - Our adult Creative Artist Network, with regular monthly networking evenings and workshops
- Squad - For adults who want to volunteer their spare time doing something creative!
- Troupe! - Free adult drama sessions, with performance opportunities and the chance to learn new skills
