Thurrock Council: Complex Housing Intervention Programme (C.H.I.P)

We are the Complex Housing Intervention Programme (C.H.I.P) Team. Our aim is to support individuals with complex needs, whose council housing situation is affected by mental health and/or substance or alcohol misuse.

We are a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, who aim to offer intensive support. We develop personal support plans, with a focus on helping people gain or maintain their council housing tenancy. We are based in council housing with connections to every local service.

Who can use this service?

Anyone with complex needs whose council housing situation is impacted by mental health and/or substance or alcohol misuse to the extent that they are potentially at risk of eviction. They also need to currently be unable or unwilling to access mainstream services.

How are services delivered?

Face-to-face, online/phone and home visits.
