Purfleet Heritage & Military Centre Community Hub

Warm space, community hub with low cost refreshments, cake and biscuits (£1.50 for cup of tea) run by volunteers, housed within the historic Purfleet Heritage and Military Centre which offers a captivating journey through British history. The hub is separate to the museum and can be entered free of charge. The volunteer-run cafe and museum welcome those with dementia.

Other low cost services provided by the charity and within the main centre, are:

Interactive exhibits; knowledgeable volunteers; themed areas dedicated to the RAF, the Gurkha Regiment, and local industrial history; tailored tours for schools and youth groups (Scouts, Cadets), and adult groups like the U3A; external presentations. such as in schools, care homes, and community centers across Essex and East London; guided Heritage Walks; and a range of community events.

The Purfleet Heritage and Military Centre is an inclusive community hub that welcomes a wide range of visitors and volunteers.   

Opening Times: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
